All U.S. citizens need a valid passport as well as a valid Indian visa to enter and exit India for any purpose.
For those flying internationally from the United States - please make sure to check your passport expiration date.
U.S. citizens seeking to enter India solely for tourist purposes for stays of less than 60 days may apply for a Visa using Sherpa, a platform that helps travelers apply for electronic visas (eVisas). You can apply using our Sherpa link here. You can also apply for an eVisa directly via the Government of India website here.
If you are flying from the United States, here are some travel tips to consider:
Fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport, located in New Delhi, India.
Our wedding will be in Rishikesh, which requires us to fly from New Delhi.
Getting to Rishikesh
On 2/21/24, we'll fly out from New Delhi (Indira Gandhi Airport) to Rishikesh (Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun). This is an hour-long flight.
Upon your arrival in Dehradun, we've arranged for taxis to transport you directly to the Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa.
Please book the Air India flight (AI 2617) leaving DEL at 13:50 and arriving in DED at 14:45.
We are happy to review travel before you book - we recommend you book this flight ASAP as there are limited daily flights to Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun.
New Delhi will serve as our initial gathering point before we journey to Rishikesh.
We recommend booking either the JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity or the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity. Both hotels are located just minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. If you're joining the Taj Mahal tour on Thursday (2/20), we will depart from the Pullman Hotel.
